Fun Facts with The PuppyDucks™
April is stress awareness month, so the PuppyDucks™ are teaching us the steps we can do to prevent and manage our stress.
Did you know that there’s good stress and bad stress?
- Did you know that the human body responds to stress by activating the nervous system and certain hormones?
- Did you know that this natural reaction is known as the stress response?
- Did you know good stress helps you recognize if you might be in a dangerous situation? That’s called a “flight or fight” response.
- Did you know it can also work when you’re not in real danger, but when you need to make a fast decision and helps you be ready to face a challenge? For example, if you’re playing a game and it’s up to you to score the winning point. That’s your good stress response that helps you build up to handle the situation.
- Did you know that bad stress is when you’re worried about too many things?
- Did you know that you can feel stressed just because you spend too much time alone? That’s why it’s great to be with friends!
- If you feel like you’re worried about too many things, it’s important to talk to an adult about things that are on your mind, no matter how silly you think they are.
