Dave helps out around the house!

Earlier this week, Dave was hanging outside with Dad while Dad was cleaning up a few things around the house. We’ve had a lot of tree pollen fall, just after we got the driveway finally cleaned from last years leaves. While outside Dave noticed that the red car was dirty and he went and go the hose all by himself and started cleaning the car. So we drew about it! Dave did a great job both on the car and drawing the details of the comic strip.

Here’s a quick video of Dave cleaning the car if the video post doesn’t display below.

And here’s the corresponding comic strip:

Spring is coming, I’m sure of it

As we’re all anxious for Spring to start, Dave and I thought it would be funny to do a comic strip on a “What If” scenario. Here’s the back story on the most recent comic strip.

Dave and I had gone out to check our garden and see if any of the bulbs were coming up. Trying to get him to understand a humorous situation, I said “Wouldn’t it be funny if the flowers just popped up fast!”

Although with these recent freezing temps, I’m hoping our hard work doesn’t go to waste.

A new learning format on the horizon

As most of you know, David has autism. It often creates difficulty in understanding social situations. We’re developing a series to help bridge the gap with social situations. Using the comic strip format that David has become accustomed to, we’re using a simple 3-panel explanation to reinforce certain ideas that David lives through.

This first series we’re working on is “What To Do When Friends Come to Visit”. We’re working on several comic strips to further this, but so far the ones we’ve created have worked beautifully.

Here we see Dave and his friend Mrs. R, who comes to visit from time to time. They’re taking pictures of one another. So having drawn out the scenario first, it helped that visit go much smoother.

A special thanks to Mrs. R who dedicates so much time to our friendship. We’re so lucky to have you around!
